Because of the growing popularity of mobile gaming, we've seen several developers port their multiplayer games that were previously available on PC and consoles to mobile. Respawn is presently testing its wildly popular Apex Legends title on mobile, and Battlefield for mobile is scheduled to be released soon. Ubisoft has now revealed a new Rainbox Six Mobile title as part of its famed Tom Clancy's Rainbox Six Siege franchise. Check out the specifics, as well as the official announcement trailer, below the jump.

Rainbow Six Mobile has been announced by Ubisoft

The announcement was published on the special R6M website via an official blog. Ubisoft has also revealed some information regarding the upcoming Rainbox Six Mobile game. However, the release date is still unknown at this time. Rainbow Six Mobile (aka R6M) will feature 5v5 player-vs-player contests divided into two teams: attackers and defenders.

According to the official website, users will be able to play the tactical shooter on popular Rainbox Six Siege levels such as Bank and Borner that have been converted for the mobile platform. With future upgrades, new maps will be added to the title. There's also a trailer, which you can see down below.

The company also listed some of the attack and defence characters, each with their own distinct skills, that will initially be available for gamers to create imaginative gameplay with. While Ash, Sledge, Twitch, Thermite, and Hibana are among the attackers, Mute, Valkyrie, Smoke, Bandit, and Caveira are among the defenders. On the official website, you may learn more about each person's powers and characteristics. More new characters will be added throughout the game's lifespan.

According to the developers, they have been working on R6M for over three years and have redesigned the majority of the product to provide mobile gamers with the greatest tactical shooter experience. However, Ubisoft affirmed that the project will share basic gameplay and aspects with its PC and Xbox equivalents.

"While the main gameplay, characters, and maps may be comparable to those found in Siege, we redesigned everything from the bottom up with mobile usage in mind." We worked hard behind the scenes to optimise the Siege experience on mobile devices. This includes "an entirely new gaming control system created exclusively for smartphones, as well as considerable optimization of the UI and in-game visual presentation," according to the business.

In terms of availability, Ubisoft stated that R6M will be tested in the next weeks. Before the game's formal release, the firm will solicit feedback from users in order to enhance it.
